You’re the Expert is a live show, podcast, and new public radio program on 90.9 WBUR, Boston's NPR station, that uses comedy to make academic research more accessible and exciting. Through games, sketches, and hilariously misguided guesses, a panel of comedians will try to get to the bottom of what a distinguished scientist studies all day. You won’t want to miss being part of the audience for this live show and podcast taping, hosted and produced by Chris Duffy. This special production of You're the Expert is sponsored by 90.9 WBUR, produced by Pretty Good Friends and benefits the Boston Book Festival.
Our July 23rd show will feature expert Ammon Shea, author of Bad English: A History of Linguistic Aggravation. The panel of top-notch comic talent will feature Brooklyn-based comedian and producer Jo Firestone and BBF favorite Steve Almond, author most recently of Against Football: One Fan's Reluctant Manifesto. We will also have a third special guest to be named later, so stay tuned!
VIP tickets include admission to a special post-show cocktail hour with participating authors/comedians as well as other BBF membership benefits. There will also be a post-event book signing with guest authors in the main lobby that will be open for all to attend.
