Pretty Good Friends

Our eponymous comedy variety show with a bunch of pretty good friends

About pretty good friends - LIVE!

Pretty Good Friends began in 2006 as a weekly comedy show in the basement of Union Hall, a music club in Brooklyn. Produced by Julie Smith Clem and originally hosted by Eugene Mirman & Michael Showalter, the show featured innovative experimental comedy and chaos from New York’s comedy community.  Michael moved to Los Angeles, but Eugene and Julie continued the show for years, mostly because it was conveniently located a few blocks from each of their apartments.  Pretty Good Friends was named "New York's Best Indie Comedy Night" by New York Magazine, and The New York Times called the show, “incredibly personal and really in the spirit of the alternative comedy scene, which is playful, informal and creative.” The weekly Sunday-night show was retired in 2011, but Pretty Good Friends Live! lives on as a traveling comedy show that makes appearances at festivals around the country.
